Description

Lake Mégantic, located in Lac-Mégantic in the Estrie region, covers an area of 27 km² and is a popular fishing destination. Anglers can expect to catch species such as walleye and bass, although pike is quite rare. In winter, ice fishing is a highlight, with a fishing village organized by the Lac-Mégantic Hunting and Fishing Association on the Baie-des-Sables beach, featuring over forty cabins. Modification of the fishing season for all species (except bass and muskellunge) in rivière Chaudière between the southeastern boundary of the route 112 right-of-way at Vallée-Jonction and barrage Sartigan at Saint-Georges de Beauce: season opens on the third Friday in May. Reduction of the daily catch limit for walleye in lac Aylmer in the part of the lake south of route 112 at Disraeli: 3 in all.
