The Rimouski Est River (Upper) - Pool 16, located in the Bas-Saint-Laurent Controlled Harvesting Zone (ZEC), is a favored spot for trout fishing. Access is free, but a modest daily access fee is required, and registration at the entrance is mandatory. Anglers can also take advantage of camping or cabin options within the ZEC. This site is managed by a non-profit association of local anglers focused on conservation and sustainable fishing. Be sure to book your spot, especially during peak seasons.

Fishing for Atlantic salmon and striped bass remains prohibited. Modification of daily catch limit and length limit for lake trout in lac Mistigougèche, ZEC Bas-Saint-Laurent: 1 in all, less than 60 cm.
